Cancer Screening Locations

Women living in Iceland who have an Icelandic kennitala (social security number) are sent an invitation letter by mail when it's time for their next cancer screening. Women can access information on their participation on “My Pages” on the information website island.is.

Reykjavík

The screening center is located at Skógarhlíð 8, 1 st floor.
Opening hours: Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8:00-15:30.
On Thursdays women can make an appointment for breast cancer screening between 8:30-15:30.
Appointments are made by phone 540 1919 or by booking online.

Akureyri

In Akureyri the screening takes place at The Health Care Institution of North Iceland - open two days a month (except June, July and August when it's closed).

Other Locations

Every midwife and Health Care Institute in Iceland perform screening for cervical cancer all year round.

Screening for breast cancer is offered at many Health Care Institutions outside Reykjavik and Akureyri yearly, or every second year. Women get a letter of invitation sent by mail when they're up for their next screening.
